Why – in this time of enlightening
The injustice is frightening
Billions still are struggling fighting
Barely surviving
Why – aren’t we coming up equal
Watched the past here’s the sequel
Feel my hope take a beating seeing
History repeating
Why – Where I am when it’s violent
Everybody keeps silent
Since they’re selling the news and their views
They just choose skip the issues
Why – You just see my offences
Can’t you see I’m defenceless
You ease then you tease me
Squeeze deceive then you leave me
Why O why Tell me why O why
When we’re all God’s children
Why – am I left unprotected
You’d think we’re not connected
Feel the joy and the pain
Need the sun and the rain just the same so
Why – With power wealth and labour
The scales are tipped in your favour
Our blood sweat and tears
Have been flowing and pouring for years
So why – want to hold up our heads high
Deserve respect, have the same pride
You act like it’s fate
Educate and debate like you hate me
Why – Makes no sense that we’re not fine
Living under the same sky
Few thriving
But most still suffering daily tell me
Chant
We’re all God’s children so let His will be done
I say we’re all God’s children O Lord Lord
Just one love check the reality
No matter the colour or the nationality
Just peace love and unity
And that make the world work in harmony
Praise the Lord every sunrise
Tumaini and Tendai
Though like on that tree you may feel
Lord why you forsake me
Why – Don’t be cast down by evil
We’re a spirited people
Our God doesn’t sleep
Though down deep we be wrestling questioning
Chant
I say we’re all God’s children
Let His will be done
I say we’re all God’s children
Bless Thy kingdom come
Just one love check the reality
No matter the colour or the nationality
Just peace love and harmony
And that’s what we want in the community
For we’re all God’s children
