THE WAY WE ARE

„The way we are“ wurde in Nashville aufgenommen. Phil Madeira, der weitreichende Erfahrung mit Musikern wie Amy Grant, Garth Brooks, the Neville Brothers aufweist, produzierte es. Die Musiker kamen einfach gemeinsam ins Studio, setzten sich in einen Kreis und spielten die Stücke live ein. Diese Energie und Stimmung sprang auf die ehrlichen Stücke der begeisternden Livemusikerin Judy Bailey über und ließen sie so voll zur Geltung kommen. – Felsenfest

LYRICS

I’ve come the long way around
It’s been hard just getting down
I can finally accept
There was truth in what You said
Old regrets still carry on
But the time for change has come
And I truly mean it now when I say

Just to see ya I’m walking on water
Just to see ya I’m gonna kill my pride
And I give my heart my mind my soul my self
Not just my words my body this time

For a while took it slow
I had some time to change and grow
And I believe I understand
A little bit more about loving
Now surrender sacrifice
Are more than words they take my life
And I know what I’m saying now when I say

And I say now say now I can’t live without You
And I say now I say now I’ve learned my lesson well
And I say now I say now things are gonna be different
And O yeah I’m longing just to see You again

There’s desire in my life I don’t often talk about O my God
Basic longing of the heart
Need for You keeps coming up O my God
Come with me though the burning
Rescue me O my God

There are things that make me sad
There are questions that I have O my God
Many things I can’t explain, things I do not understand O my God
Talk to me please be patient
Help me see it all O my God

Even the arms of a lover can’t compare
And all of the hosts of the angels are not enough
Nothing in heaven and earth’s gonna take your place
I wanna be near wanna be near to my God

The company You keep is strange I cannot predict Your ways O my God
Do I really know Your name have I ever seen Your face o my God
In Your eyes all the doorways
To the truth we yearn O my God

There’s a time it’s wise to wake up
When all old things must come to an end
It’s been a while but now I’m ready
Willing to find my place again

I guess it’s been a long time coming
It’s all been driving me insane
But no more hanging round just waiting
Willing to find my place again
Ready to find my space again

Say the word ask what you want to
I’d go the extra mile just for You

Ready to rise from the ocean bed
Ready to take to the stars instead
Ready to take on the world ahead  – whatever
Willing to find my place again

One day winter next day spring time
Funny how the seasons change
Heaven help me as I journey
Willing to find my place again
Ready to find my space again

On the road of my becoming
Lost my rhythm shook my faith
Now it’s settled now I’m searching
Willing to find my place again

Everybody can feel
Everybody’s got feelings

Under appearance under our faces
Under our skin and under our ‚races‘
The heart universal
Still there’s so much to learn about the common ground we share

Everybody can feel
Everybody’s got feelings

Under the words we feel safer in saying
Under the games we so often are playing
We’re fragile with feelings
So who really knows about the truth of what is there

Everybody can feel
Everybody’s got feelings

Inside the soul in the deepest of places
Beyond expectations our status our image
The truth is revealing
We laugh and we cry and we need healing all the same

Everybody can feel
Everybody’s got feelings

Bridge
Some don’t know what they have
Some don’t know where to find them
Some don’t know how to look
Some don’t know when they’re denied them
But everyone can feel

Everybody can feel
Everybody’s got feelings

When everything and everyone in all the world seems crazy
Flesh is weak the spirit is lazy
You help me change it around
Cause then I know that only You and You alone can save me
So I cling to the promise You gave me
And You never let me down

You make my life
You make my day
You make my night
You make it all alright ok alright ok

And in the moments when I feel as if my heart is breaking
Soul’s asleep the body is aching
Your love is sweet sweet release
You keep me going with the truth when I feel I can’t take it
Make me real when I’m trying to fake it
And You never never leave

When I feel I’m walking through the water
I’m gonna make it out safe
When I feel I’m walking through the fire
I’m gonna make it out safe
When I feel the storms overwhelm me
I’m gonna make it out safe
When I know I feel like I’m sinking
I’m gonna make it out safe

I feel good tonight not a care tonight
Feeling dynamite gonna reach the heights
Ride a satellite through the stars tonight
Everything’s alright til the morning light
Sometimes I feel the need to wake up
But it’s harder than it seems
You have the world in your hands
Til the moment that you leave your sleep
Then you open your eyes and you see that

It’s only free in dreams

Back in bed at night I’m a socialite
Money’s never tight had a feast fed my greed want and need tonight
Made much love tonight
Still my soul was right in the morning light
Sometimes I feel the need to wake up
Cause it just isn’t real
Every something worth something costs something
If you know what I mean
If I open my eyes I can see that

Sometimes I feel the need to wake up
Gotta live and love for real
But it’s gonna take my time and all the energy inside of me
If I open my eyes I can see that

Could you please let me in boy
Could you please let me in
Could you let down your defenses
Could you let this love begin

I get chills round my neck
I get shivers down my spine
And I know in my heart
Every time you are around

Let my world be your world
Let my heart be your heart
Let the Spirit if the ages that is love play His part
If there’s someway you and I could be just give me a sign
If I offer up my hand would you slip yours into mine

Please let me in boy
Could you please let me in
Could you let down your defenses
Could you let this love begin

I get chills round my neck
I get shivers down my spine
And I know in my heart
Every time you are around

And I feel all the emptiness
The cold of the night
Won’t you open up your heart
Won’t you let me come inside

What can I do How might I gain
A little bit of your love
To share your joy to share your pain
Is all I give not enough

You are my heart my one and only
Sometimes you laugh sometimes you’re lonely
With all of the things that you go through
The joy the pain the indifference  yeah yeah

You’re like a lion you’re like Goliath
But when you break I feel you tired
Cause sometimes the weight of the world
Is much too much too much for one heart to bear  yeah yeah yeah yeah

Is there someone out there who would be there when you need him
Is there someone out there who can take your cares away
Is there someone out there who would be there when you need him
Is there someone out there who can take your cares away

Yeah yeah …

The heart is a warrior worrier warrior worrier
Must learn when to lay it down
O heart You’re a warrior worrier warrior worrier
Must learn when to lay you down

Is there someone…

Wir glauben es, we know so
We believe it  we know so

This is the place to be
Every single day
Love watching over me
Every single day
It’s right on time
Every single day
I lift my hands to thee

And every day You smile on me
Your mercy makes the love grow
All the way You are there by my side
And that’s all I need to know

I face reality
Every single day
New miracles I see
Every single day
I’m on your mind
Every single day
You’ve got the time for me

Susi Susi in your eyes I see
You’re just a girl who’s got a heart like me
Life is hard, don’t you know
If you really want to grow
You gotta reach down down down down
You gotta reach down down down down

Susi Susi wants a world of peace
Wants the hatred and the war to cease
Feels so small what can she do
Peace must start inside of you
You gotta reach down down down down
You gotta reach down down down down

Susi don’t you worry
Keep on reaching for the heights
Just remember to climb the mountain
You gotta reach down down inside
You gotta reach down down inside

Susi wants joy Susi wants change
Susi wants peace Susi wants a name
Susi wants friends Susi wants love
All of the things that we’re dreaming of

Susi looks for love but cannot find
Cannot find someone to share her life
When you’re feeling all alone
There’s living water for your soul
You gotta reach down down down down
You gotta reach down down down down

Susi Susi wants to make it good
Susi wants the fame of Hollywood
Go on girl be a star
But let God show you who you are
You gotta reach down down down down
You gotta reach down down down down

All we want we really want we really want we really want Yeah

Smiles might fool but eyes don’t lie alot
See the one behind the veil
Is it alright to cry sometimes and
Can a raging heart get angry

Where’s the space for shedding what we’re not
To open up relax and be
We say the words and we do the deeds
But after all

When all is said and done
When all is said and done
We all need someone for shelter
To love us and accept us
The way we are

All we want we really want we really want we really want Yeah

Where to go to get the Midas touch
Scale the mountains stride the seas
All the lengths and the heights the breadth
Are not enough they leave me breathless

And leaves the real me floundering
And leaves the real me floundering
And so the aching carries on and on
When all is said and done

When all is said and done
When all is said and done
We all need someone for shelter
To love us and accept us

We reach the sun
But humaness goes on
The scars and the imperfections
And we long for
Someone that we can run to
The way we are
